Co-Chairs and Sponsors dedicate resources and expertise to fight heart disease
New York, NY, April 23, 2019 — The American Heart Association invites New York City to run with us at the 2019 Wall Street Run & Heart Walk on Thursday, May 16 at Brookfield Place. Brendan Dunn and Greg Brunner from KPMG co-chair this year’s Heart Walk and will lead their company’s team at the starting line.
“The American Heart Association does invaluable work to improve outcomes for those in New York City and beyond who are affected by heart disease and stroke. As part of our commitment to being active in our communities, KPMG people are helping to raise awareness to all of NYC about the heart related risks and the importance of heart health. We are proud to co-chair the event on behalf of KPMG, and we look forward to joining 12,000 other passionate, like-minded individuals in this landmark event for the AHA,” said co-Chairs Dunn and Brunner.
The Wall Street Run & Heart Walk is a 3-mile walk/run designed to engage New York City corporations and community in an activity that promotes heart health through physical activity, friendly competition, volunteerism, fundraising and fun. The event brings together over 150 of the top companies in New York City and about 12,000 participants.
An event on the scale of WSRHW is made possible thanks to the volunteer leaders and sponsors, like Centers Health Care, who is the newest Signature level sponsor.
“We at Centers Health Care are extremely proud to be a sponsor this year of the American Heart Association and the Wall Street Run in lower Manhattan next month,” said Kenny Rozenberg, CEO of Centers Health Care. “Throughout the Centers Health Care family of facilities across the Northeast and Midwest, we help seniors every day in their recovery from problems associated with heart disease and stroke in order to retrieve the quality of life they seek, so our relationship with the AHA is a natural one.”
The race and festival will take place at Brookfield Place at 230 Vesey Street, New York, NY from 5pm-8pm with the race starting at 6:45 p.m. To register for the 2019 Wall Street Run & Heart Walk please visit www.heartwalknyc.org.
“The impact of the Wall Street Run & Heart Walk is felt throughout the year with the lifesaving work of our staff and volunteers, but to see the community out together in mass to fight the number one killer and number one disabler of Americans is breathtaking,” said Kathy Kauffmann, Senior Vice President, NYC and Long Island, American Heart Association. “This year thousands of people will come together to walk, raise funds, and share their stories of the lasting effects of stroke and heart disease. I invite all New Yorkers to walk with us on May 16, 2019 at Brookfield Place in honor or in memory of loved ones impacted by heart diseases, stroke and congenital heart defects.”
The American Heart Association uses the funds raised through Heart Walk to finance cutting-edge scientific research, conduct public and professional education programs and advocate for public health.
